Josée Lepage of Commissaries in Montreal and Tobias Wong have joined forces to create a new brand of bottled water. Merging traditional “form-over-function” ideals with “sustainable” contemporary design, this collaboration aims to find a balance between aesthetics while addressing practical issues with a fresh approach for a greener market. Rather than design a new bottle, Waterrr recycles other well-known water bottles and fills them with fresh spring water. Appreciate the environmental aspect of saving millions of bottles from landfills, which take over a 1000 years to degrade, or applaud the conceptual design approach that challenges the consumer market. Lepage and Wong’s new brand of water utilizes recent technology that finally allows for discarded plastic bottles to be sterilized and refilled (formerly limited to only glass and larger plastic containers).
