BionX is an energy management system that provides power-assist that is proportional to the rider’s effort. Riders who find it difficult to ride uphill or against the wind, want a good workout, want to ride longer, want to avoid traffic when traveling to work, want to ride with a group and maintain their speed (without struggling at the back of the pack) or are on vacation and want to explore by bicycle are all potential BionX users. You can use your bicycle like any other bicycle. When you need a little more than leg power, activate the control console. The system will boost your own pedaling power by between 25% and 200%. The battery recharges when riding. By putting the system in a generative setting, the battery is automatically recharged. Also, the system automatically sets itself to a generative setting and recharges the battery when braking. Since the BionX system is equipped with a battery charge indicator, you can manage the energy required to travel the desired distance without worrying about running out of energy on the return trip.
