The Juxt coffee table is an experiment in two dimensional section assemblies. Traditional finger joinery combined with wood pin doweling and CNC profile cut components create a slender yet rigid assembly. The design creates unique functional details (magazine storage) and enables customization with modular components. One solid wood table at 38W x 16H x 28D can be machined from one 4'x8' sheet with less than 10% waste. The prototype's construction consists of 3/4" FSC poplar plywood with maple face veneer. Parts are clamped together with non-toxic white glue and wood pin dowels. The table has a brushed on clear water based finish and 1/4" glass lid.
